Terms for using ScoutChoice

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of ScoutChoice, including its tool directory, scores, comparisons, alternatives, guides and other informational content.

Last updated: August 13, 2026

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using ScoutChoice, you agree to use the website in accordance with these Terms of Use and applicable law. If you do not agree with these Terms, you should stop using the website.

2. ScoutChoice is an informational resource

ScoutChoice is an independent software discovery, research and comparison resource. Content is provided for general informational purposes and is intended to help users research software products and build a shortlist.

ScoutChoice does not provide legal, financial, accounting, security, medical or other regulated professional advice. Nothing on the website creates a professional-client, employment, agency or fiduciary relationship.

You remain responsible for deciding whether a product is appropriate for your requirements, budget, organization, data, security needs and intended use.

3. Rankings and recommendations

ScoutChoice may display scores, rankings, “best for” labels, alternatives, comparisons or other evaluative information. These are decision-support signals based on the information and methodology used by ScoutChoice; they are not guarantees of quality, suitability, performance or future results.

A recommendation depends on the task and the evidence available. Different workflows, budgets and requirements can lead to different choices.

Rankings and recommendations may change as products, pricing, available information or ScoutChoice’s methodology evolve.

4. Product information, pricing and accuracy

We aim to present software information clearly and usefully, but AI and software products change quickly. Features, pricing, free plans, limits, integrations, availability and product names can change without notice.

ScoutChoice does not guarantee that every piece of information is complete, current or error-free. Before purchasing, subscribing to or relying on a product, verify important details directly with the provider through its official website and applicable terms.

If you find information that appears incorrect or outdated, you can report it through the Contact ScoutChoice page.

5. Third-party software and websites

ScoutChoice contains links to third-party software providers and websites. Those products and websites are owned, operated and controlled by their respective providers.

ScoutChoice is not responsible for a third party’s availability, security, billing, subscriptions, customer support, privacy practices, terms, content or product performance. A link, listing, comparison or score does not create a partnership with or endorsement by the third-party provider unless explicitly stated.

Any transaction or agreement you enter into with a third-party provider is between you and that provider.

6. Advertising, sponsorships and affiliate relationships

ScoutChoice may generate revenue through advertising, affiliate links, sponsorships or other commercial relationships. If you follow an affiliate link and complete a qualifying action, ScoutChoice may receive compensation from the relevant provider or affiliate network.

Commercial relationships should not be treated as a guarantee that a product is suitable for you. Where a disclosure is required for sponsored or affiliate content, ScoutChoice aims to make that relationship reasonably clear.

7. Acceptable use

You may use ScoutChoice for lawful personal or business research. You must not intentionally:

  • interfere with, overload, damage or attempt to bypass the website’s security or technical controls;
  • use the website to distribute malware, spam or unlawful material;
  • attempt unauthorized access to systems, administrative areas, accounts or data;
  • misrepresent an affiliation with ScoutChoice;
  • use automated access in a manner that materially disrupts the website or violates applicable law; or
  • copy, republish or commercially exploit substantial portions of ScoutChoice content in violation of applicable intellectual-property rights.

8. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise indicated, the original ScoutChoice website design, editorial text, organization, ScoutChoice branding and other original site materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Names, logos, trademarks, screenshots and other materials relating to third-party products remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance on ScoutChoice is for identification, commentary, comparison or informational purposes and does not imply ownership by ScoutChoice.

9. Tool submissions, corrections and feedback

If you submit a tool, correction, suggestion or other feedback, you confirm that you have the right to provide the information you send. Submitting a product does not guarantee that it will be listed, reviewed, scored or retained in the directory.

You may send corrections and factual updates, but ScoutChoice retains editorial control over how information is organized, described, compared and presented.

10. Website provided without warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, ScoutChoice and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, compatibility with every device, or that content will always be complete or current.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer or other mandatory law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, ScoutChoice is not responsible for losses arising solely from reliance on outdated or incomplete third-party product information, a third-party provider’s actions, changes to software products, or transactions entered into directly with third parties.

You should independently evaluate material purchasing, security, compliance and business decisions. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law.

12. Privacy

Information about website-level data processing, cookies, contact messages and privacy rights is provided in the ScoutChoice Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to ScoutChoice or these Terms

ScoutChoice may update, add, remove or reorganize website features and content. These Terms may also be updated to reflect changes to the service, commercial model, legal requirements or website practices.

The “Last updated” date at the top of this page identifies the current version. Continued use of the website after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by applicable law.
