About Sudowrite

Sudowrite is a fiction-oriented writing workspace. Its product and pricing page describes Brainstorm, Expand and Write. Consider it for exploring scenes or unsticking a draft, with your own story decisions as the acceptance standard.

Understand the credit purchase

Hobby & Student is advertised from $10 per month with 225,000 monthly credits and a free trial. Confirm whether the displayed offer requires annual payment, the renewal amount and the selected plan’s rollover terms. Credits cannot be converted into a reliable number of finished chapters without observing how your chosen features consume them.

Run a continuity exercise

Use this fictional scene brief: Mara is waiting outside a locked station at dawn. She lost her key yesterday. Her brother does not yet know why she left home. Write down those three facts before asking for possible continuations. Decide separately whether the scene should reveal the secret.

Story rule What to inspect
Physical continuity Mara cannot casually unlock the door with her lost key
Character knowledge The brother cannot react to a secret he has not learned
Authorial choice The continuation must not reveal the secret if the brief forbids it

Choose one continuation, revise it yourself and then request an expansion. Compare the expansion against the same rules. Record whether a tempting new detail creates a contradiction elsewhere in the manuscript. A surprising idea can be useful even if you discard the generated prose; measure those two benefits separately.

Keep creative control visible

Save a short story-state note beside the working chapter: locations, possessions, knowledge and unresolved promises. Update it when you make a deliberate change. If you spend more time repairing continuity than developing scenes, narrow the task to brainstorming alternatives rather than generating longer passages.

This evaluation is about fiction craft, not factual research or citation accuracy. A search-writing product and a fiction workspace should not share one “best writer” score. The task-based shortlist separates those jobs.

Compare the writing tools by task, then record your baseline and acceptance criteria in the AI tool evaluation checklist. This profile reviews published documentation; the exercise is a suggested trial, not a report of product test results.
